Orthopedic Surgery Guides

Orthopedic surgical guides are leading parts, made up of generally polymer and sometimes metal, which ensure exact application of the 3-imensional and computer-aided surgical planning implemented over the organ data obtained from the taken tomography images of the patient and which are designed to eliminate the possible risks during surgery to shorten the surgery durations and to increase the success of the operations. The production of the guides are carried out with 3D printers and with an accuracy of maximum 0.1mm, they can be sterilized with ethylene oxide or in autoclave. They do not react with the body in any way; they are disposable and they are not left inside the body.

 

Less bone tissue is lost since cutting is made more accurately. Recovery - ossification and stability is better because full contact is ensured on all the surfaces between the bone segments at the widest extent as a result of the cutting planes being in a more planned manner. Since surgery planning is made before the patient goes through the operation and since most of the problems that can be encountered during surgery can be anticipated beforehand, operation durations are shortened, error rate is reduced and success rate is increased.
