3D Surgical Planning
We carry out surgical simulations for osteotomy, which is a surgical procedure performed to cut the bone properly and the implant to be used. With the simulation that includes applications such as cutting, separation, attaching, mirroring and identifying the nerves, some kind of a practice is carried out for the pre-operation planning and the operation. We also print out the medical models from the 3D data obtained from the simulation and provide the surgeons with 3D medical models so that they perform such operations physically. All the steps of the surgery to be performed are calculated with an accuracy of one tenth of a millimeter via the cephalometric analyses and measurements. The relations amongst the muscles, nerves and veins, bone density, tissue thickness, weak and strong areas of the bone are calculated using special software and the incision to be made is studied beforehand in a virtual environment. Bone cutting guides are designed and used after having been sterilized so that this virtual and accurate study is used during the actual surgical operation.
Especially in traumas caused by firearms, explosives, and traffic accidents, decision can be made to place the facial bones in their right places, to identify the defect areas, and supplementing the lacking areas with bone grafts or implants.
