Customized Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Prosthesis


After the head tomography taken with the appropriate protocol is delivered to us, a 3-dimensional patient model is created together with the surgeon to decide on the design of the prosthesis customized for the patient; the components of the joint prosthesis are designed in parallel with the lines decided over this model. Designs are steered with the analyses of direct loads, tensions and fatigue that might occur on the joint during the usage. The neck design and screw positions of the implant, where load accumulation especially occurs are made separately with the permission of the surgeon by out experienced engineers.
